Back on land there is also plenty to keep you occupied. For those feeling energetic, plan a trip to see the 14 ft high white Buddha which is visible from almost all of Nha Trang. The statue is reached by climbing 152 steps, so be prepared to put in some effort. Two kilometres north of the city are the Po Nagar Cham towers built between the 7th and 12th centuries which offer magnificent views across the city.

Catch your breath by meandering down Tran Phu Street, the city's main strip, stopping off at its many bars, shops and hotels, and allow yourself to soak up the culture.
